Research In Motion Wins U.K. Patent Dispute

London -- Research In Motion (RIM), the Canadian company
behind Blackberry, announced that the U.K. High Court has
decided in its favour regarding a patent dispute with InPro
Licensing, a Luxembourg-based patent holding company. Inpro
originally filed the suit against RIM and T-Mobile UK, the local
mobile subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom. On Thursday, the High
Court dismissed all patent claims against RIM in the U.K. in
relation to a number of Blackberry products. An equivalent German
patent was found to be invalid on Jan. 27 by the Nullity Court in
Munich. RIM is currently embroiled in another Blackberry patent
trial in the U.S.
